The Eirik Raude Deep Water Drilling Rig moored off Cape Town, South Africa. The Eirik Raude was completed in 2002. The hull was constructed at Dalian New Shipyard China and outfitted at Friede Goldman Offshore USA and in Canada by Irving Shipyard Halifax. The rig is currently equipped for drilling operations in water depths from 500 meters (1640 feet) to 2500 meters (8200 feet).

Theewaterskloof Dam is an earth-fill type dam located on the Sonderend River near Villiersdorp, Western Cape, South Africa. Administratively it is located within Theewaterskloof Local Municipality. It was established in 1978 and forms a major component of the Western Cape Water Supply System. The dam mainly serves for municipal and industrial use as well as for irrigation purposes.
